The plight of war-torn Bosnia moved a community in Nottingham to come to the assistance of those caught up in the conflict. They worked tirelessly to pack trucks full of supplies and these first aid convoys were, in many cases, driven to Bosnia by the volunteers themselves.

The orphan sponsorship scheme started in Africa, Asia & the Balkans. The scheme aims to provide needy orphans within the region with a sound level of education/training to enable them to work and earn a living when they leave school or college.

With the bombing of Kosova in March, refugees began to flood over the border to Albania. Local MH teams assisted the new arrivals by distributing food parcels, blankets and mattresses. MH also employed 45 sanitation workers to run a 24-hour clean-up operation in Tirana camps. When refugees returned to Kosova, MH accompanied them with a convoy consisting of 42 trucks, full of essential food and medical supplies.

Alhamdulillah, MH was one of the few charities able to operate in devastated Iraq. A large number of projects were completed including the reconstruction of four schools in Fallujah and orphanages in Baghdad and Mosul. Vital equipment for a gynaecology department, blood banks, clinical laboratories and four operating theatres were also supplied. A unique homeless centre for teenage girls provides protection from the dangers of the Baghdad streets.

Cyclone Sidr brought destruction to already poor and needy communities living along the coastal areas of Bangladesh. MH Bangladesh response teams in Barguna, Pirojpur, and Patuakhali were immediately despatched to relieve victims with food, shelter, clean water, medicine and transportation. 海角乱伦 Hands rebuilt schools across Maysaloon, Ishtar and Al Kindy in Iraq to serve over 1,150 students.

As the military took control of the country in 2011, further civil unrest within the Ivory Coast forced over a million people from their homes. Over 150,000 refugees fled to Liberia where they sought security and protection from escalating violence. Working in the Nimba region, MH Liberia supported displaced families across Saclepea, Boutuo and Karnplay Camps with monthly food packages and safe water.

海角乱伦 Hands responded to the earthquakes in Nepal immediately, distributing essential food items and hygiene kits to the most remote areas and carrying out construction of low-cost housing to provide long-term shelter to the homeless.

海角乱伦 Hands opens a new community kitchen for the homeless, low-income families and needy children in London. The kitchen is free and open to all and provides those experiencing food poverty with a safe space where they can be treated with respect and dignity. It serves hot nutritious meals, twice a day, seven days a week.

After the Taliban takeover, the Afghan economy goes into freefall and 98% of Afghans don鈥檛 have enough food to meet their daily needs. People take desperate measures, selling organs and even their children to keep their families alive. 海角乱伦 Hands donors respond generously, providing food and supporting our Motherkind clinic in our fight against malnutrition in mothers and children.

Earthquakes in T眉rkiye and Syria, Morocco and Afghanistan, as well as major floods in Libya and Somalia cause widespread destruction, death and displacement across the Ummah. In October, our eyes watch in horror as a brutal assault on Gaza destroys the lives of countless Palestinians causing an unprecedented humanitarian disaster with no end in sight as the year draws to a close. 海角乱伦 Hands donors respond to this surge in catastrophic disasters, raising 拢5 million in emergency relief.
